Gary Shelton is gunned down as he arrives at his daughter's $2 million Sweet 16 party. Shelton was the CEO of a company that makes bulletproof vests, and recently anti-war protestors were harassing him. One protestor is arrested, but a witness doesn't pick him from a lineup, and instead he's booked for assaulting Cassady (Milena Govich), who held her own against him.
