What is UK TV Guide?

A free guide to what's on the UK's Freeview channels: what's on now and next, the week's grid, tonight's picks, and reminders for the shows you follow. It's here on the web, and there's an app for iPhone and iPhone Duo.

It's made by Rouic, a small company in the UK, and is independent: it isn't made by Freeview or any broadcaster.

Why do the listings depend on where I am?

Freeview is split into regions, each with its own local news and programmes, and in places different channels and channel numbers. We guess yours from your connection, which can be some way out, especially on mobile data.

To change it, tap the region's name at the top of any page: use your location, type a postcode, or pick from the list. We remember your choice on this device, and in your account if you have one.

How do reminders work, and what does the app do?

Tap the bell on any programme to be reminded before it starts, or follow a show to be reminded of every episode (or just the new ones). You choose how long before in Settings.

The reminders themselves come from the iPhone app, as notifications your phone schedules for itself. Sign in to the same account on the web and on your iPhone and they're shared: set one here, and your phone reminds you.

Where do the listings come from?

From the broadcasters and the Freeview platform, refreshed through the day; the pictures and descriptions are the broadcasters' own. Schedules can change at short notice, especially around live sport and news, so check the channel if it matters.

Channel names, logos and programme details belong to the broadcasters. UK TV Guide isn't made, endorsed or sponsored by Freeview or any of them.

Do I need an account?

Not to look at the guide, and not in the app, which works the moment you open it. A free account lets you follow shows and set reminders on the web, and keeps your shows, reminders and channels the same everywhere. Sign in with Apple, Google, Microsoft or your email.

How do I delete my account?

On the web, Settings → Your data → Delete my account. In the app, Settings → Account → Delete account. Everything goes at once: your shows, reminders, channels and sign-ins. You can download a copy of your data first, from the same place.
