Saturday Kitchen Best Bites

Matt Tebbutt dishes up a feast of food from the Saturday Kitchen archives to whet the appetite for the week ahead. The Hairy Bikers bring comfort food bang up to date with sticky Szechuan lamb, stuffed into pillowy soft bao buns, with a fresh hit of pickled carrots, spring onion and herbs – cosy comfort with a fragrant Asian twist! Meera Sodha introduces a taste of Sri Lanka to the studio as she continues the comfort theme with her warming lentil and coconut dal with crispy mustard kale. Jeremy Lee brings his effervescent charm and wit to the kitchen whilst giving an underused cut of meat its chance in the spotlight. He makes a rich steamed kid pudding that melts in the mouth. Mary McCartney celebrates Bonfire Night with her flavour-packed smoky dogs, before Carmen O’Neal and Idris Elba team up to serve a masterclass in brandy. And queen of puddings Nigella Lawson tucks into either her food heaven, scallops, or her food hell, candied fruit. Meanwhile, Rick Stein explores the New Forest's bounty of produce, and the Hairy Bikers make a Menorcan dish in the Mediterranean Sea.
