Midsomer Murders

Barnaby's secret past as a British agent comes back to haunt him after a grisly murder in Midsomer Parva. A pleasant afternoon at a cricket match turns ugly when former county-cricketer - and ex-spy - Geoffrey Larkin is found gashed to death. Locals blame the 'beast of Midsomer', but Barnaby is unconvinced, especially when he discovers that umpire and retired spymaster Malcolm Frazer is using his home, Allenby House, as a safe house. Soon Barnaby discovers links to a spy ring that operated in Berlin during the Cold War, but his investigation is obstructed at every turn, and it seems as though shady dealings are still going on at Allenby House. Then there is another murder - can Barnaby solve the crime before any people get hurt? And will his police career survive a run-in with MI6? Guest starring Peter Davison, Alice Krige and Anna Massey.
