Sharpe

Napoleonic War-based action-adventure. Winter 1813 - Wellington is informed by the debonair Comte de Maquerre that Bordeaux is ready to rebel against Napoleon, but Wellington's spymaster Ross is suspicious and tests Maquerre by suggesting that they use Maquerre's own castle as a base. Maquerre reluctantly agrees but says that the castle is in Napoleon's hands, so Wellington appoints Colonel Bampfylde to lead the attack on the castle with Sharpe in support. Bampfylde, who is intent on glory, sends Sharpe on a scouting mission and tries to capture the castle on his own, but he fails and casualties are heavy - Sharpe, who is a witness to the carnage, therefore has Harris and Frederickson sneak into the castle in disguise, and they soon force the French to surrender once inside. Ashamed by Sharpe's victory, Bampfylde sends him off on a reconnaissance mission - however, Sharpe soon discovers that Bordeaux has no intention of rising against Napoleon and that Maquerre is a double agent.
