Dermot's Taste of Ireland
S2 E10 · Silgo
Dermot brings his journey to a close on the surf-battered shores of Strandhill, paddling out with Rebelle Surf into the cold Atlantic to understand why these waves draw people from across the world. He meets a couple who've eaten their way around the globe and landed here, bringing the bold, smoky flavours of the Basque country to the beach in Strandhill. Together they cook turbot over fire, a dish where Ireland and Spain meet to make something delicious. Then it's Dermot's turn. Joined by a host of faces he's met along the way, he takes everything he's seen and eaten along the series. He cooks a proper feast: fresh seafood, a deep, warming stew, and a fruit dessert that carries the sweetness of the whole journey. From the Causeway Coastal Route to the Wild Atlantic Way, it's a meal that tells the full story of the road behind him.
