Vera

Crime drama series based on characters created by Ann Cleeves. DCI Vera Stanhope is on track to uncover an intriguing yet puzzling case when the body of a sickly young girl is found in a railway siding in the middle of nowhere - the girl could be anyone, but the investigation soon turns up twists and turns that makes Vera question who this girl actually was. As a vulnerable young person with a serious health condition, it appears as if her weakened state has allowed someone to take advantage of her and her family's dynamic changed when she wasn't truly part of the family. In a tale of intrigue, betrayal and blurred lines, Vera's investigation questions the meaning of family, care, accountability and eroding trust where care might have come at a cost.
