Midsomer Murders

When octogenarian Felicity Law puts a recently discovered piece by local landscape artist Henry Hogson up for auction, the painting causes a fierce bidding war. But soon after the sale, Felicity is found tortured and killed. She had announced that she would give the proceeds of the sale to the Arnold Simms School of Art, a school that helps criminals and which had recently lost its funding. Barnaby enlists Simms' art teacher daughter Matilda to help him navigate the local art world. He soon finds many tangled relationships between teachers, dealers and buyers. Things get more complicated when a Hogson masterpiece is stolen and Matilda's former lover Graham Spate offers another Hogson to greedy art dealer Anthony Prideaux. Then the death count begins to rise. The key to the case seems to be Matilda's 'little black book' - but can Barnaby and Jones find the book and catch the killer before anyone else gets hurt?
